My trip to Paris, France wasn’t really a Trip to France. Meet nine-teen year old Raphaël Markowicz; Fashion Student, Aspiring model and Vanity Planet Ambassador from Paris.

Although we would love a trip to Paris we were connected to Raphaël through Instagram. It was a sign of many great things to come as he was very eager to learn about and be a part of The Social Tour. We looked through his page and immediately wondered who is Raphaël Markowicz? So we decided to interview him.

This interview was Directed by: @guilloumael

We want to provide a platform for all creatives across the globe to come together no matter how much "clout" you have.

Q1: Where did you grow up ?

So basically I was born in Paris. My parents live here and I still live here and I’m in France for the moment and we’ll see in the future.

Q2: What’s your background ?

So honestly not gonna lie I have a pretty basic background. I was in college and I had a normal life of a student, basic. Nothing special honestly like everybody else I think.

Q: What does your work aim to say ?

Well what I try to say in my work is that I want to make people feel confident so that’s why I always want to make like kind of “sexy clothes” because I just want people to feel good and embrace their body and their mind. That’s what matters for me and I think that’s just how I work and this is my vision honestly. I just want to make people happy and feel good about themselves.

Q: Who are your biggest influences ?

I would say that my biggest influences are my friends, my family and like in the celebrity world I’d say that I’m really interested in artists, mostly musicians such as TheWeeknd, he really inspires me I love his music, his vibe, he’s just so cool. And I know you guys may not like them  but the Kardashians inspire me because I love the way that they express themselves  and their body, I just like the vibe you know. So I’d say that.

Q: How have you developed your career ?

So I’m still developing it and I always drew, like I started drawing when I was maybe 6yo and since then I’ve never stopped so this is how I feel about it. I work a lot, like honestly I don’t sleep a lot: I think I sleep about 2-3hrs every night… I have a real lack of sleep honestly and I try to stay focused on my thing and with God this is how it works.

Q: Which current art world trends are you following ?

Honestly I have no clue, like I’m a very curious person so I try to inspire myself from so many things. Like I go to the museum, I listen to music… I do a lot of things so there’s no specific trend I’d say.

Q: Why do you do what you do ?

I feel like I have to do it. I’m an artist and I’ve wanted to create things and I’m always creating things. That’s what I’m going to do for the rest of my life I think and I do it because I feel like God told me to do it, I was born to do what I’m currently doing.

Q: What are your main sources of inspiration ?

I’d say that I take most of my inspiration form my life, which may sound narcissistic but it is (who cares ?) so most of my inspiration is taken from relationships, my past, what I want to do and also a lot form music. I listen to music 24/7 ! I have to hear beats. A little bit also form tv shoes but really music, my friends, my life.

Q: If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing ?

It’s a tough one lol. I’d say that I would probably be a plastic surgeon but I don’t want to study for 13 years or so lol so I can’t do it. I like the fact that you work with aesthetic it’s just like in fashion and I think it’s really important to make people feel beautiful and this is the link between fashion and plastic surgery.

Q: What’s your hidden talent ?

(Laugh) I have so many. I’d say but it’s not really hidden that I’m a really good cooker… yeah I’d say cooking let’s go for it.

Q: Have you ever been to the USA ? If so where ?

Yes I’ve been to the USA. I’ve been to NYC once when I was 5 so I don’t really remember but later on I went to Florida I did a road trip it was so much fun I loved that. My biggest dream is to go to LA but I’ve never been before and I hope to go soon.

Q: A favorite quote you live by ?

I read so many quotes honestly I have an app on my iPhone actually that tells me a new quote every single day and I read it when I wake up. So I’d probably say that the one I’d go for is “wake up with determination go to bed with satisfaction”. This is really my mindset.

Q: What would you like people to know about you ?

I don’t really want anything like I’d say that just want people to know that I am real with who I am and the things that I do. I just do what I want to do and this is the way I live you know so I just want people to know that I’m 100% true. And I don’t even care if people like me or not this is not what I’m interested in so I just want people to know that I am who I am and I do what I want to do.

Q: Why do you think The Social Tour is important for creatives such as yourself ?

First of I’m really thankful for The Social Tour to give me this opportunity. I think it’s really important to talk, especially as an artist it’s important to talk to people and that I express myself, to say what I do and why I do it this is really important for a creative. And even though I’m really true on my Instagram and stuff I feel like I can talk more and this is really important to me so I’m thankful for The Social Tour and everybody else, thank you.
